This guide will help you to get connected with your Opticomm Internet connection.
Once you have received your activation email from Quokka Net you are now ready to get online.
Opticomm ONT
The Optical Network Terminal (ONT) is the Box that connects you to the Opticomm fibre network.
This is usually mounted on a wall.
Several different types of ONT devices have been installed by Opticomm so your ONT may not be listed.
Below are some of the different ONT devices used.
Adtran 611D/611B
Ports
Optical = This port will have the fibre cable coming from the street connected here (this cable is often yellow with a green plug)
GE = This is the Ethernet port that your router/modem/gateway needs to be connected to
Power = This is where the power cable is connected.
Nokia G-240G-E
Ports
Optical = This port will have the fibre cable coming from the street connected here (this cable is often yellow with a green plug)
Ethernet = There are 4 Ethernet ports. You need to connect your router/modem/gateway to the port number provided in your activation email (e.g. UNI-D1 is port 1).
Power = This is where the power cable is connected.
Nokia I-241G-B
LED Descriptions
POWER
Off = No power
Green = Operating on ac power
Green flashing = ONT is starting up
Red = Operating on battery backup power
WAN
Green = PON is connected and operating properly
Green flashing = Software downloading
Red = PON not connected but ONT has power
Orange = ONT ranged but OMCI no established
Orange flashing = ONT is ranging
ALARM
Off = ONT is operating without failure
Red = ONT operation failure (not ranged)
Red flashing = ONT software failure
LAN 1 to 4
Off = Not provisioned or no Ethernet connection
Green = 10/100 link detected
Green flashing = 10/100 link has data activity
Orange/Red flashing = 1000 link has data activity
Orange = 1000 link detected
VOICE
Off = No POTS provisioned (all phones are on-hook or no phones connected)
Green = One or more phones are off-hook

Your Router/Modem/Gateway
In order to get online, you need to connect the WAN port of your router/modem/gateway to the Ethernet/GE port of the Opticomm ONT.
