In order to connect to your Quokka Net - nbn Internet connection you will need to use a router or modem.
Your router may also be called a modem or gateway.
Pre-Configured Routers
We have a range of routers that we sell that come pre-configured and ready to work straight out of the box.

Bring Your Own
You have the freedom to Bring Your Own (BYO) device to use with your Quokka Net - nbn Internet connection.
If you already own a router or modem, you might be able to use it with your service.
You will need to check that it is compatible to be sure that it will work.
Compatible Routers/Modems will depend on the access technology you are using.
nbn FTTP, FTTC, HFC and Fixed Wireless
Compatible Routers/Modems need the following:
- a WAN Ethernet Port
- The ability to connect to the Internet using PPPoE (Username and Password) via the WAN Ethernet Port.
Example: The Blue port labelled 4 is a WAN Ethernet port.

These devices are known to be incompatible with your Quokka Net - nbn Internet connection and will NOT work.
- Optus Ultra Wi-Fi Gen 2
nbn FTTN and FTTB
Compatible Routers/Modems need the following:
- VDSL2 compatible and have a DSL port.
- Support Seamless Rate Adaptation (SRA).
- Support Save Our Showtime (SOS).
- Support Robust Overhead Channel (ROC).
- Support Vectoring.
- The ability to connect to the Internet using PPPoE (Username and Password) via the DSL Port.
